Hello Kitty Cat Humiliation Kit

We begin our excursion into the strange world of the Japanese with what is most definitely a Japanese cultural icon: Hello Kitty.

It looks like you can now buy a kit that will let you transform any ordinary cat into Hello Kitty:

Hello Kitty Cat Kit

This is a completely crazy idea, and I doubt there is a single other country in the world where people could have come up with this type of thing.

If you would like to see more photos, or even order one of those, you can do so via this Japanese web page. They have tons of crazy photos like the one above, and even a video of the Hello Kitty Cat Kit in action. The kit seems to cost 18900 Yen, which by today’s exchange rate is 116 Euro.

(Via Gizmodo, who also came up with a wonderful title for this kit which I took the liberty to use in modified form, and Gizmodo Japan.)
