Hello Kitty Cutting Playset

What the hell? I saw this toy in China, but Hello Kitty is a Japanese product, so I am including it here. It’s the Hello Kitty Cutting Food Playset.

Granted, I may not have the mindset of a two-year old anymore (no matter what some people might say); but what kind of toy is this? What is the fun in it? I think this is just another example of merchandizing gone way overboard.

In case anybody really wanted to buy this thing – it costs 129 Yuan, which is about 12 Euro. Not a small sum of money for an average person in China.

They have toys in America like this. Corn, or some other food split in half and connected by Velcro.

I had one of the American versions when I was little. It goes with a kid-sized kitchen that teaches children what the purpose of all the stuff in the kitchen is. It’s for playing pretend, much like tea parties.
