I’ve moved this blog to a new server. Better, bigger, faster, newer. I also took the opportunity to finally update Wordpress. I am sorry if anybody tried to reach the site today and hit a wall.
The good news is that the current version of Wordpress makes posting images much easier, and that means it’ll be less annoying for me to post and that means … more weird stuff from Japan.
Have fun!
Sorry for the break in postings. I’ve switched to a new job and moved to another city, and that meant not only a lot of work but also a time where I had no Internet. I’m back online and ready to resume your supply of weird Japanese news and findings. Greetings from Munich!
I’m back from my vacation. No self-heating garments were used.
We’ll continue our regular program tomorrow.
I’ll be on vacations for a little over a week: I’ll be showing my Japanese friend Europe. I’ll try to practice my (still very, very, very basic) Japanese. Oh, and I will let you guys know if she brought heated slippers to fight the cold European autumn weather.

We’ll get back to our regular schedule of weird Japanese things when I return. Stay tuned.
What happens when someone adds your site to StumbleUpon?

So, thank you for recommending my site to StumbleUpon, whoever did that. And a big Welcome to all “Stumblers”.
I’ve added some information on how we do things around here to the About page. If there are any questions, let me know.
Welcome to my latest blog. It’s going to be a very quick and very simple one.
For some time, I have drawn great amounts of amusement from all the crazy things the Japanese come up with - the stereotypical underpants vending machines, strange USB toys, pet accessors… You name it. I usually forward stuff I find to my co-workers and we have a good chuckle. But I decided that it would be much cooler to have a more permanent archive of all that wacky stuff those adorable Japanese invent.
And so here we are.
I hope you enjoy your visit here, and that you find something amusing or maybe even educating.
