In October I posted a toilet training video I found on YouTube. That gem of Japanese entertainment tried to teach you and your kid how to take a dump; with a special guest appearance of Hanky-san. However, if you and/or your toddler need some further practice, they made this little toy to demonstrate the principle to your kid:

And of course it’s important to learn how to use public bathrooms, too – especially if you are stuck in Japan and get confronted by their weird domestic toilets.

Enjoy.

Hide your children: This is a game where you can beat up and otherwise abuse anime girls.

But it gets worse… This is truly a first-person shooter.

As if we really needed proof that Japan is the land of weirdos and perverts…

And just for the record: I do think this game is wrong.

They just need to change the way you sit on it and offer it in red.

I don’t know much about motorbikes, but anything that makes our future slicker and cooler without burning petrochemicals is a good thing in my eyes.

You can read more about it at the designer’s website (in Japanese) or here.

These little beasts are not really extremely wacky – there are lots of dumb little accessories for mobile phones available in Germany, and I presume, in most other countries – but I thought they were quite appropriate, seeing as how it’s Halloween and all.

These are fashioned after “Medama no Oyaji”, (“Eyeball Father”) from a manga and anime series from the 60s. Each of the figurines is basically a tiny baby with a huge eyeball for a head. Eyeball Father was once human, but died and was reincarnated as an anthropomorphic version of his own eyeball.

There are baseball, soccer, basketball, volleyball and tennis variations of this thing. You can buy them at StrapYa World for
420 Yen each (about 2.50 Euro).

My mobile phone will of course remain strap-free.

The following cartoon is designed to teach Japanese kids how to use the toilet. I think any further explanation would be a waste of bytes. Just… watch:

I can honestly not decide whether or not this is real… but I fear it is. Any brave souls who’d rip that tune and play it on their MP3 toilet?

Update: My Japanese friend says this is actually a commercial trying to sell the device at the very end. Kind of elaborate for that.
