Okay, that headline was a bit inside, but I am sure my good buddy G. will appreciate the craziness of this one.
I sure hope this isn’t meant to be serious. The original was annoying enough, but had a certain unique style. This is… atrocious. If at least they had used the Choco Party girl as the lead singer…!
In October I posted a toilet training video I found on YouTube. That gem of Japanese entertainment tried to teach you and your kid how to take a dump; with a special guest appearance of Hanky-san. However, if you and/or your toddler need some further practice, they made this little toy to demonstrate the principle to your kid:
And of course it’s important to learn how to use public bathrooms, too - especially if you are stuck in Japan and get confronted by their weird domestic toilets.
I know, I know. I really wanted to post fewer commercials. But we just haven’t run out of material yet. Today, I want to share two commercials for high-tech toilet seats with you:
The following cartoon is designed to teach Japanese kids how to use the toilet. I think any further explanation would be a waste of bytes. Just… watch:
I can honestly not decide whether or not this is real… but I fear it is. Any brave souls who’d rip that tune and play it on their MP3 toilet?
Update: My Japanese friend says this is actually a commercial trying to sell the device at the very end. Kind of elaborate for that.
Anyway. Sometimes, a band doing something silly or nonsensical strikes a chord with the people. And when that happens in Japan, the results are… well. What’s the progression from “nonsensical”? Let’s cut the chatter short, you really got to see this one for yourself.
They’d sure make good icons for the gay scene. If you want to treat your co-workers to a special treat, trying singing the song for them in English.
The Japanese are a very modern people. Everything is high-tech: Everything is automated, the seat’s heated, and since 2005 they also have the capability to play MP3 music while you make use of the facilities:
The MP3 player is not integrated into the seat-part itself, but rather an external computer which is mounted to the wall. Music is fed into the toilet via SD cards.
Good music to play while taking a dump include David Hasselhoff, the Spice Girls, Britney Spears or pretty much any of those rap-stars-of-the-week.
The MP3 Toilet is made by the toilet company Toto.
