Toilet Commercials

§ February 25th, 2008 § Filed under Japan § Tagged , , , , , , § No Comments

I know, I know. I really wanted to post fewer commercials. But we just haven’t run out of material yet. Today, I want to share two commercials for high-tech toilet seats with you:

I guess for the genuine experience you have to add the toilet mp3 player, and use poetry toilet paper when you are done. And for more toilet wackiness, revisit the toilet training video!

Poetry Toilet Paper

When you are done using your MP3-enabled toilet, what better way to clean up with some poetry toilet paper? They are printed with toilet-themed haikus. Of course you have to be able to read Japanese to enjoy them. I don’t, but I still had to include this little gem in the archive of Wacky Japanese Stuff.

MP3 Toilet

The Japanese are a very modern people. Everything is high-tech: Everything is automated, the seat’s heated, and since 2005 they also have the capability to play MP3 music while you make use of the facilities:

MP3 Toilet in Action

The MP3 player is not integrated into the seat-part itself, but rather an external computer which is mounted to the wall. Music is fed into the toilet via SD cards.

MP3 Toilet External Unit

Good music to play while taking a dump include David Hasselhoff, the Spice Girls, Britney Spears or pretty much any of those rap-stars-of-the-week.

The MP3 Toilet is made by the toilet company Toto.
